Photography, video/audio production, journalism, and performing/writing music are just a few of my interests. Rather than choosing just one of these labels as a profession, I chose to call myself an artist so nothing gets left out.
I started playing with cameras in high school, and later enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography to further my education. I started shooting professionally in 2000 and I have been honored to teach a few photography classes over the years. I love teaching and believe to be a good teacher I have to constantly be learning.
I've been published in Guitar Player Magazine, Images Magazine, several newspapers, art books, and have won several journalism awards from Illinois Community College Journalism Association for photography and with the Prospectus News Staff an award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
In 2012, I took a trip to Sula, Santa Barbara in Honduras to shoot and produce a documentary for the Hospital Centro Socorro De Lo Alto. It was was incredible.
I'm currently going to school, majoring in journalism, and I work for the Prospectus News paper at Parkland College as Production Supervisor.
As for my modest music career, in 2011 I signed with RDSE Records and released my first album "It's Christmas" with songs written by my producer, Ray Miner.
I'm currently working on a tribute album for my mom, who passed away from triple negative breast cancer in 2010. The new album with feature songs written and sung by my mother, Connie Stodden, as well as, me performing versions of songs she wrote.
Once this album is completed I hope to donate some of the proceeds to support those who are fighting cancer. It feels amazing to be helping my mother's music to live on while raising money to support those who are dealing with such a terrible disease.
